Rays Get Trounced, Sonny Gives Up 5 Jacks

Rays starter Andy Sonnanstine got clobbered in his start against the Orioles – surrendering six runs over two innings of work. Those six runs included five homers. Vladimir Guerrero, Jake Fox, and Adams Jones all went deep on the Rays starter. Nick Markakis went yard in the first and second innings.

Kelly Shoppach homered in the fifth, followed by back-to-back jacks from Manny Ramirez and B.J. Upton in the sixth inning. However, the Rays were unable to duplicate the crazy offense of Baltimore. The Rays drop this one, 12-6.

  1. Andy Sonnenstine is the worst pitcher ever, that slow slooping delivery with no velocity just plain sucks, high school players can hit that weak crap. Do you know why he gets batters out occasionally, cause they aren’t used to seeing such slow ridiculous pitches. I think his change-up is clocked at 46 miles an hour.
